With over 20 years of management experience in the automotive and marine industries, I-Deal Acquisitions was founded to serve as a trusted advocate for Buyers—providing expert guidance, reducing stress, and securing the best possible deal.
Founder Donald Ploetner is a two-time International Antique & Classic Boat Society Champion and a frequent winner at prestigious boat shows across the country. A passionate collector of both Porsche automobiles and antique classic boats, Don brings a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and performance to every client interaction.
He holds a degree in International Human Resource Management from Fairfield University and has extensive dealership experience with both domestic and import brands. This background has given him a unique, insider's perspective on dealership operations.
Don’s professional mission is to navigate Clients through the acquisition process with transparency and expertise, ensuring the final outcome aligns with their expectations and financial goals.
Michael blackburn
Vice President - Operations
Mike brings over 40 years of Purchasing and Senior Corporate Management experience, equipping him with exceptional expertise in sourcing and negotiating vehicle acquisitions across all categories. His extensive background in the aerospace industry also offers a distinct advantage to Clients exploring aircraft purchases.
Professionally certified in both purchasing and corporate administration, Mike holds a BME and an MBA, and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. His diverse leadership experience translates into innovative, cost-effective strategies for fleet purchasing and management.
A former President of a 140-member Corvette Club, Mike also enjoys long-distance motorcycle trips and RV camping with his wife. He is committed to delivering a smooth, stress-free, and rewarding purchasing experience to every Client who chooses I-Deal Acquisitions.
Michael Volosin,
Director of Northeast Operations
Mike has been immersed in the automotive world his entire life, developing a deep appreciation for the technological innovation that defines each new vehicle generation. With over a decade of experience—beginning in sales and later as a corporate trainer for a major automotive brand—he brings a unique perspective and insightful expertise to the vehicle selection and acquisition process.
Outside the automotive arena, Mike is an accomplished guitarist and avid collector. For a thrill, he once took a spin on the iconic Indianapolis 500 racetrack—though he’s keeping his top speed a secret.
Mike is deeply committed to delivering exceptional concierge service. His proficiency, industry knowledge, and genuine enthusiasm enable him to consistently exceed Client expectations.
Jim Milstead
Director of Southwest Operations
With a diverse background that spans flying with the Civil Air Patrol to competitive sailboat racing, Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and real-world perspective to his role at I-Deal Acquisitions.
Jim’s business experience includes senior management positions in the semiconductor and biomedical industries, as well as work on Department of Defense special projects. He holds degrees in Electronics and Business, with minors in Economics and Law, an MBA, and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
A lifelong learner and teacher, Jim is passionate about sharing useful knowledge. He volunteers with the Escondido Fire Department Emergency Services Team, where he teaches emergency response courses, and also serves as an ASA-certified sailing instructor. An avid traveler, Jim is close to reaching his goal of visiting all 50 U.S. states—with only eight remaining.
Jim’s primary focus is to understand each Client’s needs and provide smart, effective solutions that support a successful and rewarding outcome.

Jeff’s love for automobiles runs deep. He’s personally owned over 50 vehicles and graduated at the top of his class in general automotive studies, giving him an exceptional understanding of both cars and the industry. Known for tracking down hidden gems and negotiating unbeatable deals, Jeff takes pride in making the car-buying process seamless, enjoyable, and stress-free.
More than just a car expert, Jeff values trust, integrity, and lasting relationships. His clients know they’re in good hands—working with someone who genuinely cares about their satisfaction.
When he’s not helping others find their dream car, Jeff enjoys spending time with family, working on project vehicles, and swapping ideas with fellow car enthusiasts.
